TORONTO LOFT
UPSCALE•INDUSTRIAL•MODERN
This loft is located in downtown Toronto. The client and her daughter both with busy lifestyles asked us to make this space both functional and professional. With the world continuing to change and business being forced to function from home, this loft had to have the ability to allow the opportunity for them both to have their own working space. My partner and I took on this project with all hands on deck and enjoyed every minute of it. Located to the side are the top and bottom floor plans for this loft.
Here displays this Toronto Loft brought to life. It displays rooms including the Living room, Kitchen, Dining room, Principle and daughter's bedroom, as well as some essential detailed millwork highlighted throughout the design. We had a dark but neutral color palette and used materials including wrought iron, wood, and brass to pick up on each other while also creating contrast.
Visuals are extremely important to present to a client, which is why me and my partner took the liberty in creating this mass model of the loft. We mainly focused on displaying the millwork detailing to allow the clients to see their space as if they were standing inside of it. We focused on vertical lines throughout this space as well to direct the human eye upwards giving the illusion of an even higher ceiling.
The client's for this Loft had a clear vision on how they wished their redesigned loft to look like. They provided me and my partner with this photo and asked us to pick up from the materials, colours, and textures and make it unique to them.
This was one of my favourite projects to take on as we had to create an entire concept based off of this picture. They also wished we would focus on some interesting millwork designs as seen in the accent wall behind the stairs and the wood paneling seen behind the fireplace in the living room.
This project was definetely one of the most conceptual ones we have taken on in the past, but over all it was one that surpassed the clients expectations.
